It's great to hear about your progress. I'm still slaving over my bloody thesis, too. Right now I'm finding it hard to believe that I ever thought that the writing-up stage would be the easy bit. Ugh. I think I must have been on drugs or something. :-7
The braces sound awful. I do hope that when you're finally done with them, it turns out to have been worth while.
